The Newmark Group

by Gábor Jelinek | 16 Mar, 2023

The Newmark Group is a Pan-African Integrated Marketing communications and brand positioning firm that leverages the power of brand trust to foster the growth of businesses and organizations. With a footprint spanning the African continent, and hub offices in several key countries, including Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, Burundi, Senegal, Morocco, Egypt and Côte D’Ivoire, the Newmark team delivers communication strategies that empower clients to engage their stakeholder ecosystems, while emerging as leaders in their sectors. We have built an agency ecosystem that consistently delivers mission-critical insights, strategies, storytelling, and execution to drive business growth and success.
We operate across seven areas of expertise, namely public relations, creative, experiential, insights, multilingual, digital and integrated marketing communications. These areas of expertise are elevated by our technology subsidiary, Weza Prosoft, which is one of the fastest growing software development and systems integration companies in the region. This comprehensive suite of capabilities enables us to provide customised solutions to companies of all sizes from key sectors such as healthcare, telecommunications, banking, fintech, technology, biotechnology, mining, FMCG and climate change. This includes Fortune 500 brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Novartis, MTN, and Avantor.
We deliberately anchor all our strategy on robust analytics, insights and local understanding. For this reason, we have built a strong team under our analytics area of expertise, which has designed and implemented research programmes that have informed market-entry strategies for some of the fastest-growing brands on the continent, including 54Gene and AOS. This team is also behind the design of major stakeholder programmes such as Nigeria’s largest financial literacy programme.

Our Public Relations practice has evolved into a powerhouse firm that constantly innovates strategies and tactics to keep in step with the fast evolving audience and channel landscape in Africa. Our core areas of excellence include stakeholder-based PR, crisis communications, executive profiling, thought leadership and media training.
Our Experiential and Creative Communications teams continuously push the boundaries of innovation in the events they curate, manage and market for clients across the continent. With a service portfolio that includes a strong technical foundation, our events team is able to support physical, virtual and hybrid events, leveraging all both off-the-shelf and custom platforms and equipment. This is in addition to our client-acclaimed event management services that include event design, speaker selection, delegate management, venue setups, programme discretion and A/V and technical setups.
Our Digital Marketing practice ranks among the fastest growing in the African region, thanks to the unbeatable mix of creative content, courageous strategy, cutting-edge tools and a hungry team. Our local footprint allows us to design mission-appropriate digital strategy that go beyond traditional platforms to embrace USSD, AI, Machine Learning, Custom Apps, stakeholder channels and signature digital events. We build on our deep sector expertise to generate digital and content marketing campaigns that continue to deliver results for a growing list of clients across sectors.
This growth would not be possible without our ability to seamlessly provide our full range of services across a region as expansive and linguistically diverse as Africa. Indeed, our team consists of multilingual strategists and specialized hub offices that cater to the need to communicate in various languages, including French, Arabic, Swahili, English, Portuguese, Hausa, among many others.
In addition to this, empowerment is central to our DNA. We empower our client brands with insights that enable them to emerge as thought-leaders in their sectors of operation, particularly in Africa. To achieve this, we constantly generate and share the insights that they can build on. We are also engaged in empowering the next generation of strategists through our Newmark Lab programme that exposes early-career communication professionals to global-standard training modules.
